My Passion and Philosophy for Ikebana
Ikebana is an extension of myself, a language that speaks to my very being. To arrange flowers that resonate with the times and the environment, I constantly expose myself to art and music, striving to sharpen my senses. Ikebana possesses a magical quality, relaxing the arranger during the process and soothing the viewer afterward. I wish to share this allure of ikebana with people around the world.

Highlighting the Differences and Innovations Compared to Traditional Ikebana
Traditional ikebana places great emphasis on form, teaching everyone to arrange flowers in the same way. However, spending too much time on mastering forms can lead to giving up before one can truly arrange freely. I believe that after grasping the fundamental concepts, a higher degree of freedom makes the experience more enjoyable. A shift in thinking is necessary to allow individual personalities to shine through. As an artist, I aim to go beyond merely creating beautiful ikebana, by “arranging music,” collaborating with artists, and “arranging emotions.”
For the past ten years, I have taught ikebana to people from various countries. My purpose as an instructor is not just to teach techniques, but to provide an environment where arrangers can freely relax and create.

Workshop Introduction:
I will begin by demonstrating my ikebana techniques, introducing the use of scissors and kenzan (floral frogs), as well as how to handle floral materials. Participants will then create their own ikebana arrangements. In the first session, I will teach basic forms. In the second session, participants will arrange freely. As you engage your five senses with the floral materials, you will find yourself both relaxed and focused.
We will use fresh, locally sourced flowers. I personally visit the market to select the most suitable floral materials.
